Lost to Found...
- African Atlantic Life & Family Beach Camel Hike
O you who've gone on pilgrimage -
where are you, where, oh where?
Here, here is the Beloved!
Oh come now, come, oh come!
Your friend, he is your neighbor,
he is next to your wall -
You, erring in the desert -
what air of love is this?
If you'd see the Beloved's
form without any form -
You are the house, the master,
You are the Kaaba, you! . . .
Where is a bunch of roses,
if you would be this garden?
Where, one soul's pearly essence
when you're the Sea of God?
That's true - and yet your troubles
may turn to treasures rich -
How sad that you yourself veil
the treasure that is yours!

Or you can go directly go to the hotel if you prefer (Check in after 12 noon.) YEJO leader will make first briefing of the days and provide you the some suggestions for visiting Marrakech. After settling in you may have the time to do a little exploration. There is lots to see and do in Marrakech, and easy to get around. You can head for the central square, Djemaa-el-Fna, beneath the imposing tower of the Koutoubia Mosque. The main labyrinth of souks (market) is also found here, walk along and feel the vibrance and dont forget to bargain with the local sellers if you found something. Accommodation hotel 4 stars Ground transfer 20 minutes Day 2/ Marrakech - Sidi m'Barek - plage d'Azrou Transfer by minibus to the coast. We pass through Chichaoua towards the Atlantic Ocean. The road crosses many argan tree cultures, in the heart of which cooperatives are established. South of Essaouira, we find the saddle camels for the children, and let's go for the big adventure with the camel caravan and a night in the tent. Real explorers! Berber lunch next to the waterfalls of Sidi m'Barek, a very beautiful site. Continuation towards the dunes of the assif n'Boud, a small river leading to the sea; the landscape is magnificent. Camp on Azrou beach, where we can enjoy a beautiful sunset over the ocean; blankets provided. At camp the team will help us put our tents up and set up camp. Then we will have dinner, and watch the sky change colours for the sunset and maybe join in with the Berber team singing some songs. The night skies are incredible here with minimal light pollution, allowing us to see billions of stars, and the sounds will only be of distant waves crashing on the beaches. a special night. Accommodation: tent Ground transfer: 3 h Walking time: 2 to 3 hours Day 3/ plage d'Azrou - Sidi Kaouki Northbound quiet hike partly by the beaches, partly inside, to reach Sidi Kaouki with the camel caravan. Of course, snack break in the middle of the morning (dry fruits, cakes, seasonal fruits). A little south of Essaouira, Sidi Kaouki is a small seaside resort a little intimate, well known to surf lovers. This is where we are staying in a guest house, our "base camp" for the next two nights. Lunch awaits us; installation in the rooms, probably a little nap, then we can enjoy the pool, or walk through cultures and forest to reach the huge beach. Note: located 10 minutes from the ocean and the beach (on foot, through a small forest and then the sand), in a very quiet place, the guest house belongs to the Berber family who is in charge of camel logistics for our groups on the coast. They will do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Accommodation guest house Walking time 4 to 5 hours Day 4/ Sidi Kaouki - villages berbères Day of discovery of Berber villages in the interior of the country. The guide will help us to understand the way of life of the Haha, the name of the Berbers of the region, who live from their crops (wheat, barley, argan), with herds of goats. We will meet and share with a local family with food, talks and the cake dipped in olive oil and argan oil, around a mint tea. Return to the guest house for lunch. As the day before, a little nap, then beach, pool, surf lesson (optional). Time allowing at Sidi Kaouki beach we can partake in an optional surf lesson. This can be one of the highlights of the holiday for some children (and adults!). The surfing here is very dependent on the local conditions (wind, waves, tide), so we need to remain flexible and aware that it might not happen, to avoid disappointment. At the accommodation there is, as always, time for a swim in the pool before dinner and a good night sleep. Accommodation guest house Walking time 4 to 5 hours Day 5/ Sidi Kaouki - Essaouira The light is beautiful. Head north, passing by the marabout of Sidi Kaouki ( place of pilgrimage for women who want to have children), then a traditional fishing village. Balcony path above the coast to join a series of small dunes that plunge into the sea. Berber lunch with the team, before joining a local transport that takes us to Essaouira. Discover the old Mogador, the white and blue city (white houses with blue doors and windows). This fishing port, founded by the Portuguese and then conquered by the French, is now classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is a delight to stroll through the medina, the alleys, the fortress, the port. Possibility of swimming on the beach of Essaouira.
