About the retreat
Tongxiang is a small town rich in agricultural resources, peaceful rivers, which fertile the area.
With a long history of farming life, the locals keep their special way of respect for the nature.
Naturally, many seasonal customs are still a part of their local life.
Every year during Spring, families will be outside to have a "wild cooking", combined with a bit of farm work to arrange all the food from the fields.
Most of them are vegetables, green beans...
This hands-on experience involves lots of joy.
Building a stove together, look around the village to gain all the tools for setting up fire and succeed with the cooking thanks to teamwork.
It's a belief in local that "a healthy life is from the relationship, which is being built together inside a family and outside with the people from your neighborhood".

08:30 Departure from Shanghai 10:30 Arrival at Tongxiang countryside Brief of the day, set up team work 11:00 Follow local culture, start our wild fire cooking in the fields 12:00 Enjoy our lunch together 13:00 Hiking into the fields, explore local village life 15:30 Drive back to Shanghai 17:30 Arrive in Shanghai Transportation: A private bus will be arranged from/back to Shanghai downtown. Gathering: Time: 08:30 Place: Zhongshan Park Subway Station, Line 3-4, Exit 3 Beside the 7-Eleven shop (unless notified differently) Meals: The meals include countryside wild cooking. We provide equipment. Equipment: (Needs to be prepared by each participant) - Hiking clothes and shoes (or comfortable out door wear) - Small bag to carry your things during the day - Personal drinking bottle (can refill with hot water) - An open mind (so good for every step of life) Booking Procedures: Click here to book Activity Confirmation: Upon reaching the minimum amount of participants, you'll receive an email with the last details of the trip. Usually 2 days before the departure. If we are unable to reach the minimum amount of participants, we will postpone or cancel the activity. Circle Cancellation Policy:

To assist and for the convenience of members,
The hereunder Booking & Cancel Policy is designed to make the activities more stable, reliable and much easier for the planning of all members.

Upon the collection of the payment, the bookings of one activity will be final confirmed.
When a member wants to cancel a booked activity, the Circle Cancel Policy will be followed as such:
- the cancellation is to happen two weeks before the activity, 100% of the payment will be returned
- the cancellation is to happen one week before the activity, 80% of the payment will be returned.
- the cancellation is to happen 1 day before the activity, 50% of the payment will be returned
- the cancellation is to happen on the same day of the activity, 0% of the payment will be returned.
* NB: the booker who cancels his/her booking may find a replacer for the booking, in which case all payment will be 100% returned.
Again,
the policy is designed to make minimum impact on all group members, and make each activity stable and reliable to all bookers.
