About the Retreat
Are you a beginner but would like to discover new lands at the rhythm of the horse?
Then this trip is for you.
It is in the Périgord, which corresponds roughly to the current Dordogne département in southwestern France, is for many people the picture-perfect image of the French countryside.
We have set up a 6-day program that will allow you to be independent on horseback; at the end we go for a horseback travel from the morning of day 4 to the evening of day 5.
5 intensive days to taste the joys of this travel on horseback !!

Itinerary
Day 1. Welcoming the riders in Equestrian school at 10:30 10:30: presentation of the place, the team, the horses and the stay. 12:00: welcome drink and meal 14:00 - 15:00: Discovery of horses: behavior, lifestyle, communication ... 15:00 - 17:30: first approach of your traveling companion, first link, discovery of grooming, preparation of your horse and first feeling on horseback Day 2 Initiation and Training for Horseback Riding 9:30: Preparation of your horse, objective: to develop its autonomy on horseback at a walk and to discover its balance at the trot 12:30: lunch 14:00-17:00: first ride in the heart of the Perigord forests 19:00 dinner Day 3 Initiation and Training for Horseback Riding this morning we will have a rest. We will take the opportunity to visit the green Venice of Périgord! 12:00: lunch 14:00 - 17:30 We leave for 3 hours of horseback trek Objective: discovery of gallop Day 4 Horseback Trek 30km 10:00 departure for the day, 30 km on horseback We will take the old Gallo-Roman road in the middle of the Périgord forest, symbol of the natural park, to reach our midday stop called "les forges du boulou" peregrine falcon nesting site classified in natura 2000. Then we leave after the meal along forest paths, we will cross a dolmen at the bend of a path, we will take the time to stop to take a look at an abandoned village, A nature day marked by history ...... We join our evening stage called "the area of the genette", we will spend the night in a cabin or in a yurt. Day 5 Horseback Trek km We leave early in the morning for a long day of journey on horseback, returning to the site at 19:00. Day 6 Departure day End of stay, breakfast and departure of the riders from 11:00 after a last caress to your traveling companion The itineraries of day 4 and of day 5 will be adapted according to the achievements of the day before! Guest House Shared bedroom by 2 riders About Meal Real lunch and dinner (no picnic), our meals are mainly made up of local and seasonal products, we do our best to take into account the tastes of each hiker. About Equestrian guide & supervision Your guides, qualified equestrian guides, very experienced and passionate. They will have a lot of pleasure to accompany you and to make you discover the horses, the horsemanship and the region. About Horses The cavalry is made up of excellent school horses, of all levels, used to evolving independently of each other, thus guaranteeing greater safety and faster and more efficient learning for our trainees. About saddlery The saddlery is a quality saddlery, English saddles of very good quality and well maintained, suitable for hiking.
